Restoran Al-Azwath
Mmm...Mamak
Yeah! Segamat's one and only (to the knowledge of the Joey and the Wombat) mamak stall!!
The place
When the Wombat and the Joey first migrated to this calming part of the world that is away from the hazardous jungle of KL, we were a bit upset to find that Malaysia’s No. 1 ‘el-cheapo’ fast food restaurant, that is, the ‘Mamak” stall, was not available here. However, how blissful were we, when sometime in 2006, one Mamak restaurant did open up their chain in a small corner of the town, nearby Billion supermarket. (It’s at the very end of the row of shops where ‘Chicken King’ used to be. Most of the food here in Segamat are basically local Malay and Chinese food, so here is good place for all of you to try out some light Indian dishes such as roti canai, chapatti, naan, nasi beriyani and the like. They do serve nasi campur, though, if you like ‘Mamak’ style nasi campur. The Joey and I do have fovourites here, which are ‘maggi goreng’ and ‘chapatti cheese’. (Yummy!) Their roti canai and paratha bread are rather big, so it can they’re quite filling for those who don’t eat much.
They provide Astro channels as entertainment, like in most Mamak stalls you can find, so anyone of you who wants to catch some MTV, Channel V, HBO, Disney channel and more that you can’t find on college’s Astro channels, you can come here and watch while you’re having your teh tarik. Besides that, this Mamak stall is also rather clean, and you can see the staff mopping the floor when they’ve got nothing else to do, because not many come here during the day. However, the service is quite slow, when compared to other mamak stalls I’ve been to, (or Your local mamak stall, I’m sure), so if you want to add-on some other things, I recommend that you make you order your first meal first, then make your second order while you are eating.
Nevertheless, the price they offer on their menu is very much cheaper than most of the restaurants in Segamat, and the food here is quite nice. All in all, the Wombat would recommend coming here again.

Evaluation:
Menu: The usual roti canai, chapatti, naan, roti telur, maggi goreng, rojak, mee goreng mamak, nasi beriyani, nasi campur, etc.
Price range: el-cheapo.
Seating Capacity: 40
Location: Far end of the row of shops near the ‘run-down’ house in the bushes.
Opening Hours: 24 hours!!!
Additional Notes: It's a wide space area, meaning the tables aren't too close to each other, so you don't feel suffocated or crowded with people when you're having a meal, unlike in some mamak stalls you go to.
The Wombat's rating: me like this place. And so does the Joey.
